SMALL GROUP PERSONAL TRAINING FOR WOMEN OVER 40 IN ROCKLIN, CA
FOR WOMEN READY TO FEEL CAPABLE AGAIN
Follow a strength program created for your goals while training with women who encourage you and trainers who know when you need guidance, a modification, or a push forward.
YOUR PLAN. YOUR PACE. YOUR PEOPLE.
PERSONAL COACHING WITH SHARED MOMENTUM
Small Group Personal Training at Shred 27 gives you a strength program based on your needs without asking you to train by yourself.
You share the studio with a small number of women, but you are not expected to have the same abilities, use the same weights, or complete every exercise in the same way. Your trainer considers your goals, experience, movement history, and current fitness level when guiding your workout.
That means you receive direct instruction, technique support, and appropriate progressions while still enjoying the encouragement of women who are building strength alongside you.
It offers more individual attention than a general fitness class and more connection than training alone.
MADE FOR THE SEASON YOU ARE IN
A STRONG FIT FOR WOMEN WHO WANT MORE THAN A CLASS
This program is designed primarily for women over 40 who want to become stronger but need more direction, personalization, and accountability than a conventional workout class provides.
YOU ARE NEW TO STRENGTH TRAINING
You want someone to teach you what to do, explain why you are doing it, and make sure you are moving correctly.
YOU ARE STARTING AGAIN
You exercised before, but work, family responsibilities, health changes, or life in general interrupted your routine.
YOU FEEL INTIMIDATED BY GYMS
You want a welcoming studio where you can ask questions, learn at your pace, and exercise without feeling watched or judged.
YOU STRUGGLE TO STAY CONSISTENT
You do better when your workouts are scheduled and someone notices whether you show up.
MORE THAN ACCESS TO A WORKOUT
GUIDANCE THAT CONTINUES AS YOU GET STRONGER
-
A PERSONAL STARTING POINT
Your training begins with a conversation about your goals, experience, concerns, and what you want to be able to do more confidently. -
YOUR OWN TRAINING DIRECTION
Your exercises and progressions are selected according to your abilities. Sharing a session does not mean receiving a generic workout. -
ATTENTION TO YOUR TECHNIQUE
Your trainer watches how you move, provides clear instructions, and helps you correct your form before adding unnecessary weight or difficulty. -
ADJUSTMENTS MADE IN THE MOMENT
If a movement does not feel appropriate, your trainer can change the exercise, resistance, range of motion, or setup while preserving the purpose of the workout. -
STEADY STRENGTH PROGRESSION
As your technique and confidence improve, your program develops with you. Progress may involve more resistance, greater control, or a more challenging exercise variation. -
MOBILITY AND FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT
Training also supports the balance, coordination, and mobility you need to move more comfortably inside and outside the studio. -
A CONSISTENT TRAINING SCHEDULE
Scheduled sessions give your week structure and make it easier to turn exercise into a routine instead of another plan that keeps getting postponed. -
ONGOING CHECK-INS
Your trainers pay attention to how the program is working and make changes as your strength, confidence, and needs evolve.
TRAIN FOR THE LIFE YOU WANT TO KEEP LIVING
STRENGTH WITHOUT PUNISHMENT OR PRESSURE
Shred 27 does not use exhaustion as the only measure of a successful workout. Our goal is to help you become stronger through training you can perform well, recover from, and continue consistently.
-
STRENGTH COMES FIRST
Sessions prioritize resistance training because maintaining and developing strength supports movement, confidence, and an active life after 40. -
TECHNIQUE EARNS THE NEXT STEP
You are not rushed toward heavier weights or harder variations. Your trainer helps you develop control and understanding before increasing the challenge. -
MODIFICATION DOES NOT MEAN FAILURE
Changing an exercise allows you to continue working toward the goal of the session. It is a coaching decision, not a lesser version of the workout. -
YOUR RECOVERY MATTERS
Your energy and readiness will not feel identical every day. Trainers can adjust the session while still helping you make meaningful use of your training time. -
PROGRESS IS PERSONAL
You may improve by lifting more weight, moving with better control, increasing your range of motion, or feeling more confident with an exercise that once intimidated you. -
CONSISTENCY BEATS EXTREMES
A program you can maintain will serve you better than an aggressive routine that leaves you exhausted, discouraged, or unable to continue.
PROGRESS YOU CAN FEEL IN DAILY LIFE
BUILD STRENGTH THAT GOES BEYOND THE STUDIO
-
FEEL PHYSICALLY STRONGER
Develop full-body strength that supports lifting, carrying, climbing stairs, traveling, gardening, and other everyday activities. -
MOVE WITH MORE CONFIDENCE
Improve your control, stability, and understanding of how your body moves. -
LEARN HOW TO USE WEIGHTS
Become comfortable with strength-training exercises and equipment under the guidance of a trainer. -
STOP GUESSING
Arrive with a plan instead of trying to decide what exercises to do or whether you are performing them correctly. -
CREATE A ROUTINE THAT LASTS
Use scheduled sessions and personal follow-up to make training a consistent part of your week. -
RECOGNIZE YOUR PROGRESS
See improvement through the things you can do, not only through a number on a scale. -
FEEL LESS ALONE
Train near women who understand the experience of beginning again, learning something new, or prioritizing themselves after years of putting other responsibilities first. -
GAIN CONFIDENCE IN YOURSELF
Prove through repeated action that you are capable of learning, progressing, and becoming stronger at this stage of life.
KNOW WHAT YOU ARE WALKING INTO
A PLAN FOR YOU AND A TRAINER BESIDE YOU
When you arrive, you will not be handed a generic circuit and left to work through it alone. Your trainer will guide the session and help you understand what you are doing.
You can expect:
-
A PURPOSEFUL WORKOUT
Each exercise supports a specific training goal rather than being included simply to make the session feel difficult. -
CLEAR INSTRUCTION
Your trainer explains the movement, helps you set up correctly, and answers questions as they arise. -
COACHING WHILE YOU MOVE
Trainers observe your form and provide feedback during the exercise, not only before it begins. -
DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF THE SAME GOAL
You and another member may use different exercises, weights, or ranges of motion while working toward a similar strength or movement objective. -
ROOM TO SPEAK UP
You can tell your trainer when something feels uncomfortable, confusing, or too easy. That information helps them coach you more effectively. -
ENCOURAGEMENT WITHOUT COMPARISON
You will be supported and challenged without being ranked against the other women in the group. -
A SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT
You leave knowing what you worked on and how the session contributes to the strength you are building over time.
COACHED BY PEOPLE WHO PAY ATTENTION
TRAINERS WHO LEARN MORE THAN YOUR NAME
A good trainer should understand where you are starting, what you are working toward, and what may prevent you from staying consistent.
Shred 27 owner Jonathan Moomey is a Registered Nurse who develops programming with the realities of women’s lives after 40 in mind. His perspective informs how the training team approaches exercise selection, progression, recovery, and communication.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING SMALL GROUP PERSONAL TRAINING?
You complete a structured strength workout while a trainer provides instruction, observes your technique, and adjusts exercises to suit your abilities. Members can work through different exercises or progressions during the same session.
IS THIS THE SAME AS A GROUP FITNESS CLASS?
No. A general group class usually asks everyone to follow one shared workout. Small Group Personal Training allows for more individualized exercises, weights, progressions, and trainer feedback.
DO I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO LIFT WEIGHTS?
No. Your trainer will teach you how to perform each exercise and help you choose an appropriate starting resistance.
DO I NEED TO GET IN SHAPE BEFORE JOINING?
No. The program is intended to help you begin from your current level. You are not expected to prepare for personal training by training on your own first.
HOW LARGE ARE THE GROUPS?
Groups are intentionally limited so trainers can observe each member, answer questions, and provide meaningful personal attention. Ask about the current group size during your Fresh Start Session.
HOW LONG IS EACH SESSION?
Shred 27 schedules Small Group Personal Training in dedicated coached time blocks. The team will confirm the current session duration and available times during your session.
HOW MANY TIMES PER WEEK SHOULD I ATTEND?
Your ideal frequency depends on your goals, schedule, training experience, and recovery. A trainer will recommend a consistent schedule that is realistic for you.
CAN MY EXERCISES BE CHANGED?
Yes. Your trainer can adjust the exercise, resistance, range of motion, or setup while keeping you connected to the purpose of the workout.
WHAT IF I HAVE AN OLD INJURY OR PHYSICAL LIMITATION?
Discuss it during your Fresh Start Session and continue communicating with your trainer. Exercises may be modified when appropriate, and medical clearance may be recommended before you begin.
WILL I HAVE MY OWN TRAINING PROGRAM?
You will receive personalized training direction based on your needs. Because members may be working toward different goals or progressing at different rates, not everyone will complete an identical workout.
IS THIS PROGRAM ONLY FOR WOMEN OVER 40?
Shred 27 is designed primarily around women over 40 and the strength, mobility, recovery, and consistency concerns that often become more important during midlife.
WHERE DOES TRAINING TAKE PLACE?
Sessions are held at Shred 27, located at 2217 Sunset Blvd, Suite 701, in Rocklin, California. The studio is in the Sunset Park center near Safeway.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move and supportive athletic shoes. Bring water and any information the team asks you to provide before your session.
HOW DO I BEGIN?
Book a free Fresh Start Session. You will talk privately with a trainer about your goals and learn whether Small Group Personal Training is the right place to start.
PROGRESS LOOKS DIFFERENT FOR EVERY WOMAN
STORIES FROM THE SHRED 27 COMMUNITY
Some members came to Shred 27 nervous about entering a fitness studio. Some had not exercised in decades. Others were already active but needed more direction, personal attention, or accountability.
Their experiences show what can happen when women receive coaching that respects where they are starting and continues to support them as they grow stronger.
Shred 27 is a great gym! The classes are challenging and motivating. At 65, I was worried about keeping up with the exercises, but coach is patient, encouraging, and always pushes me to try just a little bit more. The women I’ve met in class are kind, fun, and encouraging. This is the place to work out, even if you don’t know how. I learn something new every time I attend a class, and in the process, I’ve lost weight and gained muscle.
— Becky Sheets
I started at this gym thinking “ I’ll just go because I was training to walk the Camino Portuguese 185 mi. Then I’ll exercise and do it on my own, just quit. BUT I realized I LoVE 💗 the personal attention in the small group strength training and HIIT classes. It’s what motivates me and I actually see muscles. I feel so much better. Going 3-4x a week I realize I am taking care of myself. The other days I’m riding my horse. Thank you shred 27

I have been coming to Shred27 since June2025 for the HIIT classes with Gabriel. He’s a great instructor, I know I will always come to a high energy class with solid support and guidance. I recently started with 2x week strength classes with Joey. He is an amazing trainer. Very professional, supportive and motivational as well. He was able to crack the code on how to make my body respond with building muscle and losing fat. I’m so grateful that I found Shred27 and I am looking forward to meeting my goals with the help of these amazing trainers.
